Buster
Buster Crabbe
Squeaky Toy Boy
Meet Buster
, he arrived here on 10/28/2004. It was said that he did not get along with
the Lab that they had
and that he
had snapped at the baby.
This little boy used to sleep outside in a
crate with a pillow in it and the door off it. Here he has two baby crib
mattresses and lots of blankies to sleep on, until I go to bed then he wants
up in bed with me. He never cries at night anymore, he only did the first
night. He is a hoot , I can pick him up and squeeze him , but if you kiss on
him he grumbles.
Buster was
on strong antibiotics for 5 weeks , due to his rotten teeth
his mouth was so rotten that part of it looked like a tumor , but was
just infected tissue.
He
had 9 NASTY pus encrusted teeth pulled. He had
been on high power antibiotics since 10 days before that.
Someone
asked why I thought that Busters Teeth caused his emphysema.... well here it
is...
If you have gum disease you may be inhaling
harmful bacteria from the infection in your gums into your lungs which can
cause pneumonia, bronchitis, emphysema, chronic obstructive pulmonary
disease. Individuals with COPD have shown that gum disease particularly bone
loss, is a risk factor for COPD. An increase in dental plaque may place
these individuals a greater risk for respiratory infections. 12 studies
provide direct evidence of the association between pulmonary infection and
oral diseases. This association occurs in people with
severe compromised health,
in
frail elderly
people and in patients with chronic pulmonary disease. Improving oral
hygiene might reduce the risk of pneumonia among people at risk. Thus, it
is important for people at risk to have necessary regular
recall appointment
and the introduction of specific
oral hygiene courses
for
caregiver
in long term care institutions.**
