May 22, 2004 Hallam Nebraska was hit with an F5 twister. The first picture below is a map of the path it took. I have Marked our house on the map with a red square.
There was a storm that night , just normal wind and rain , a normal storm to us. The power went out at 8:55 so we just went to bed. Little did we know that the reason the power went out was because they had shut down the Hallam Power Plant after the Twister. We woke up the next day to still no power so we went to Lincoln for breakfast. This is the first sign we saw that anything had happened.
Kim picked up a newspaper as we went in the restaurant , looked up over the top and said to me "Hallam is gone". I said "What do you mean Hallam is gone".
