09/27/2007 Cassidy had a rope tied around his legs and was flung over a fence and left to hang there for who Know how long with his front feet not able to touch the ground. Someone found him and called Animal Control. They reported to animal control that he had been a stray in the area for 2 weeks running on all 4’s. They failed to tell The Animal control officer, that they found him hanging by his legs over a fence.

10/05/2007 – I am emailed to come get him, but they want to neuter him first. I said "no we can not wait We need to get him to a Vet for diagnosis and treatment." He can’t do anything as he can’t stand up. A battle ensues…

10/08/2007 – I called to let them know I had someone coming to get him that day. It was then that the shelter told me that someone had been in the night before to retrieve their dog and that Cassidy recognized them and was very happy to see them. That person told the shelter staff that he had been stray in there neighborhood and they found him hanging from the fence.

10/09/2007 6:30am we hit my Vets office, had x-rays and he has a misaligned spine near his back end. $400.00

10/10/2007 Consult with Ortho Doctor in Omaha , he gave us a 15% chance of making him walk again. With a $3,000 price tag. Consult with K-State University Vet school , $700 for a milogram and another $1300 IF they can do the surgery.

10/11/2007 Finally Found a doggy chiropractor , $60 an hour , going 10:00 am on emergency.

10/12/2007 Just back from the Holistic Vet. This is indeed a recent injury as he has not lost any muscle mass in the back end yet. He has one bad spot on his back about in the middle. But his spinal cord is fine as there is room there for it and its not compressed. He can stand up and bare weight if you stand him up.

She gave him acupuncture and did not manipulate his spine as she does not want to harm that spot. It is beginning to look like rest , meds and physical therapy will do it. Kennel inn has swim therapy. That should run us between $400-600 depending on how many times we (Carolyn) takes him. Massage therapy is ok but not over the ribs area, as on the x-ray you can see 3 ribs are not attached to his spine In the correct place. May be a birth defect as its no pain to him. She only charged me $60.00 for the whole appointment. He needs to be on Vit C and E and Glucosamine and Chondroiten.

10/22/07 --- Start Hyrdo Therapy at Nebraska Animal Medical Center.

Scooty WILL Walk again. Steve had him in the hydro tank on the underwater tread mill

several times today. And out on their fake grass to potty. This is a superficial injury. He can stand on his right leg the left one being weaker. We got him before there was muscle atrophy , which is a real good thing. I bought the 8 session package for him to get a 10% discount - $200.00.

10/25/2007 - I saw him in the hall , just out of the corner of my eye , stand 1/4 the way up and walk a few steps. I thought no that can't be Scooty , it must be Margie or Dannie as they are about the same color. I said "Scoots" and he sat down and looked at me.

10/26/07 Scooty at the puppy work out gym with his work out buddy Steve. Scooty says he is a slave driver LOL
